김치형
1997년 서울 출생. 김치형은 자신만의 독특한 위트로 기상천외한 캐릭터를 창조하고 그들이 등장하는 세계를 그린다. ‘천로역정’, 프란츠 카프카의 ‘변신’ 등의 소설을 즐겨 읽으며, 미국 게임과 애니메이션의 블랙유머, 음악에서 주로 영감을 받는다. 특유의 세밀한 묘사력으로 캐릭터의 표정, 장면과 상황의 표현에 집중하는 그의 창작세계는 순수함과 그로테스크함을 동시에 지니는 것이 특징이다. 2018년부터 아티스트 그룹 ‘밝은방’에서 다양한 매체를 통한 예술작업을 시도하고 있다.

KIM CHEEHYUNG
Born Seoul, 1997, KIM Cheehyung creates extraordinary characters and worlds from his unique wit. Working from literature such as Bunyan’sThe Pilgrim’s Progress and Kafka’s The Metamorphosis, as well as music from American games and animations, inspires Cheehyung’s black humour. He expresses this humour through the worlds he creates, his characters and their quotidian circumstances. They contain fantastically detailed illustrations, illuminating both the pure and the grotesque. Since 2018, he has been affiliated with the artist group <Brightworkroom> and has been experimenting with new and mixed-media in his work.
